Today was one of those jam-packed days. Early morning trip to the Farmer’s Market, quick Walmart visit, an afternoon at the beach with the girls, and evening of playing. By the end of the day there were two whiny kids and one semi-cranky mommy.

This time, however, we had CBG here with us, which added a whole other layer to the experience. Mostly good, because it’s sometimes nicer to have moral support. It was also challenging in a way, because he and I have very different parenting styles and philosophies. I know that he doesn’t always agree with my opinion or my approach. It’s a little hard not to feel judged sometimes. Particularly in those awful moments that happen in the middle of a five year old’s meltdown.

Just another one of those challenges when it comes to single parenting, blended families and step parenting.

Ain’t life grand?

Still…it sure is nice, for once, to have someone’s arms to collapse into at the end of the day.

More to come on this one, kids. I’m just too tired tonight to keep thinking about it.

Yeah, those challenges are tough! Even more to discuss and learn about each other, isn’t it?

  2. You know what? My husband and I get in disagreements sometimes about that kind of thing and don’t even have blended-family going on.

  3. I get this. And I’m kind of looking forward to it, and dreading it at the same time.

  4. Know you mentioned liking the Yoga Loft…just read in the Coast it is closing down end of July due to financial problems!!!

  5. Yep it’s definitely a challenge. Definitely something that needs discussion about how things will be handled.
