My latest post is up over at parentsociety.com: Why I’m a Selfish Mother. That’s right, kids, I’m selfish and you know what else? I’m not even afraid to admit it.
“So listen, I’m a selfish mother and I’m not afraid to admit it. There, I said it. But before you judge me harshly for that admission, allow me to explain how I got here and why. Because as you know, there’s always a story. This is mine.”

Very well said. I try to keep in mind that “love your neighbor as yourself” means nothing if you do not first love yourself. Same for “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” It is impossible to give to someone else without first giving to yourself. Thank you for showing how this applies to motherhood.
