So much can be communicated in the simple meeting of two mouths.
I remember vividly when CBG and I broke up, the last kiss that we shared the morning he dropped me off at the bus station. After a tense night and morning spent together, when his lips brushed against mine, I knew it was the end. I knew that this one wasn’t, “until we see each other again”, it was “goodbye”.
I also vividly remember our first kiss when we got back together, several months later. It said so much more than just “hello”. It was, “I’m back where I belong.”
Last night, when our lips found each other in the darkness of CBG’s bedroom after the kids were sound asleep, the kiss said, “IloveyouIloveyouIloveyou.” The question in each other’s eyes was answered in a simple meeting of two mouths.
It doesn’t erase the tension and questions from the past week that have been raised. But for a time last night, it finally felt like we were on the same page again.
And today? Well, today felt a whole lot like the old CBG and Sunshine again.
It’s amazing what a simple kiss can do.
